help!

So Ms. Jones my paper is about FDR's new deal policies and in prong one of my paper I'm discussing the great depression and what led to the new deal. So, my question is Hoover was the president before FDR and he did some things to help the economy, but not nearly enough and i'm wondering how much detail i should go into about what hoover did.

    remember your thesis: if it doesn't mention Hoover then you can't either. If you have enough, why is it necessary to even mention something so seemingly off topic..

    ok but it seems that if i don't mention Hoover it would leave a gap between when the economy fell flat on its face and when FDR gave it some smelling salts to wake it up.
